We are delighted to announce that the 7th International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA) Biennial conference will be hosted by the University of South Africa in the City of Tshwane, from 6-10th August 2018. This conference will co-inside with the 2nd Tourism Educators South Africa (TESA) International Conference. Our sponsors are the South African National Convention Bureau, Gauteng Tourism Authority and the City of Tshwane.

ITSA Biennial conferences have only once been held outside of the Asia-Pacific region, and never before in Africa. ITSA 2018 will take place in a world-class facility, the CSIR International Conference Centre and will give you the opportunity to experience true South African hospitality.

Full Paper Submission Deadline: July 6, 2018

For oral presentations and poster presentations please submit abstracts of 500 words or not more than three pages to itsa2018@unisa.ac.za , using the ITSA submission templates. These presentations also aim to provide an opportunity for B-degree, Honours or any developing researchers to present their research.  These presentations will not be published in the Proceedings, but will be included in the conference programme.

ITSA also invites abstracts of up to 1,000 words for full papers for possible inclusion in the referred conference proceedings, ISSN-2517-1488, and expanded papers of up to 8,000 words for publication in the International Journal of Tourism Cities, ISSN-2056-5607, published by Emerald-group and ITSA. All full papers must be submitted electronically for a blind-peer review process. All authors will be notified via e-mail regarding the acceptance of the paper when the review process is completed. Refer to the ITSA submission templates for the submission of full papers. Only accepted papers that have undergone a blind peer review process will be included in the Conference Proceedings. At least one author of an accepted paper, as listed in the Proceeding and Final Programme, must register and attend the conference. No substitute presenters for papers/posters will be allowed on any of the papers published in the Proceedings.
