Dr. Mahmood Ziaee, is an Associate Professor of Department of Tourism Management of Allameh Tabataba’i University, Tehran, Iran. He got his Ph. D. degree of Urban Geography from Tehran University. Dr. Ziaee has written 3 books on Tourism field in Persian, An introduction to tourism industry (2011), Formulating evaluation indexes of sustainable tourism development (2015), Tourism Geography of Iran (2018). He has published more than 50 papers and conference proceedings in the areas of planning sustainable tourism development, green tourism, Management of tourism effects, capacity building, empowerment and participation of the host communities. He has supervised and consulted over 40 MA and PhD Thesis. He teaches at all levels focuses on Tourism geography, Tourism planning, Sustainable tourism development, evaluation of tourism projects and Philosophy of tourism.

He has the honor to be held the head of the Tourism Department, Research vice president of the faculty in years 2001 and 2013 respectively. He has been the founder of the first Geography and Tourism Planning research center in Iran and is a member of two NGO’s of the Iranian Tourism Scientific Association and Iranian Society for Green Management. He is the chief editor of The Journal of Tourism Studies of Allameh Tabataba’i University and also peer reviewer of other journals on tourism studies. He has already organized nearly 15 seminars and national tourism conferences, workshops and excursions. Nowadays stablishing international cooperation with universities in other countries to share experiences is his serious concern.
